“Jellyfish Blossoms” Original Paintings

These paintings are created from photographs taken of cherry and sakura blossoms around Toronto. As a great lover of marine creatures, I realized that the petals were as colourful, delicate, and at times translucent as jellyfish. The way that the blossoms sway in the wind reminded me of the gentle way that jellyfish swim through the ocean. Air acts like a fluid and this fact made me imagine what it would be like to see these ocean creatures swimming through the air.
The comparison between the blossoms and jellyfish serve to emphasize their beauty and the relationships between different elements in our beautiful, natural world, in the hopes of inspiring a better appreciation for our beautiful planet and the plants and animals in it!
